My name is Jenn Trallo Schreiber and I have been with #TeamAcuity since 2009. I serve Acuity Healthcare as our Corporate CMS Quality Analyst and also Acuity Specialty Hospital of NJ as our Chief Quality, Safety, and Risk Officer. I am a clinician at heart- I believe, no matter where my professional journey takes me, I am always a nurse first. This centers me and helps me to stay focused and mission-driven. To prepare for my current role, I achieved my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from New York University in 1998, and a Master of Science in Nursing and a Master of Business Administration from Wilmington University in 2008. I have always been interested in learning how the healthcare delivery system operates as a whole, which led me away from direct patient care in 2004. I have held progressive leadership roles since then, moving into Quality Management in 2007. I have been a Certified Professional in Patient Safety since 2012.
On a day to day basis, it’s my job to help ensure that as a company we are doing the right things for patients and doing them well. This means I continually educate myself and our team regarding state and federal rules and regulations and clinical “best practices.” I also use clinical and operational data to measure and monitor hospital and corporate performance to ensure we stay on the right track. Quality Management oversees many functions including licensing, accreditation, performance improvement, patient rights, safety, infection prevention, risk management, and more.
I love my job and I can’t imagine doing any other type of work. I am privileged to help creatively solve problems and educate staff and patients. I believe that being a leader in healthcare quality means helping to create the systems in which amazing clinicians can care for patients safely, then stepping out of their way to allow them to do that work. Even though most patients may not know we are there, the Quality Management team is always operating behind the scenes in support of patients and staff.
I love working for Acuity Healthcare because this employee-owned organization truly lives by its guiding principles: Integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do. Every employee is a valued member of the team, and although my job is boring to some (but not to me!) I believe I am making a difference for patients and clinicians every single day. I can’t ask for more in a career than that!
When I am not buried in a spreadsheet or delivering a presentation, I enjoy traveling with my husband and son, Philadelphia Eagles football, boating and salt water fishing, and enjoying my pets.
Jenn and her team!
