Acuity Healthcare Appoints Lisa Bien Vice President of Communications
ACUITYHEALTHCARE APPOINTS LISA BIEN VICE PRESIDENT OF COMMUNICATIONS
CHARLOTTE, NC –June 11, 2016 – Acuity Healthcare is pleased to announce the hiring of Lisa Bien as Vice President of Communications.
A Philadelphia native, Lisa Bien brings more than 25 years of communications expertise to the Acuity Healthcare communications and leadership team. In this role, Bien will be responsible for all internal and external communication needs of the company and for increasing the visibility of Acuity Healthcare, its hospitals, subsidiaries and affiliates in the marketplace.
Prior to joining the Acuity team, Bien served as the public information manager for WHYY, Public Broadcasting Station and National Public Radio Affiliate. Before WHYY, she owned Bien Marketing Group, LLC, where she offered her clients personalized service across all communications platforms, both in traditional and digital media. Bien also served as vice president of consumer media relations at Garfield Group Public Relations (GGPR). She joined GGPR to head up the agency’s consumer team where, among her many successes, she launched Motorola Connected Home’s media relations program, which garnered national attention. Earlier in her career, she served as the communications manager for Lockheed Martin Corporation (Naval Electronics Surveillance Systems – Surface Systems.
Bien was a partner and vice president of Feldscher Bien Public Relations Inc., a firm that specialized in entertainment and hospitality public relations. She drove, directed and implemented all media and community relations activities for the debut of Fox 29’s Good Day Philadelphia, the first live and local morning news show in the Philadelphia market.
She is an alumna of Temple University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She went on to receive her Master of Education from Holy Family University. Currently, Bien is an adjunct professor in Temple’s journalism department and a lecturer for The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania.
Bien strives to give back to her community through her volunteer outreach and professional development organizations. She has served as a board member for the Philadelphia Public Relations Association, the Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care Foundation, The Lantern Theater and The Attic Youth Center. Currently, she volunteers for Mothers Matter and The Hansen House.
